About

Feel The Warmth is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides School Supplies & Uniforms, Winter Coats, Children's Books and Toys to the less fortunate in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Donations are collected from both Businesses and Individuals. These donated items are carefully disbursed to families in your community that are in need of assistance. These families are found through organizations in the area that deal with housing assistance, food stamps, utility aid, etc. Also, a large percentage of those in need are found by you, the neighbor and friend of someone facing financial difficulties.

Many of us immediately link an organization like Feel The Warmth to helping those homeless, living in shelters or living in a structure that resembles a house. We most certainly assist these unfortunate people, however, our organization equally attends to those families living week to week. The final inspiration to launch Feel The Warmth was based on an encounter with a working man who couldn’t afford to replace his son’s lost Winter Coat.

The Encounter:

I am acquainted with a gentleman who is forever challenged by meeting monthly expenses. He is a family man, hard worker and a prominent part of his church. A few years back, during a frigid afternoon, I ran into him at a local convenient store. He was only wearing a sweater on this 20 degree day. I jokingly said that you must be one tough guy in order to withstand this cold with only a sweater! Shaking his head from side to side, he replied “my teenage son lost his coat and had to wear mine today”. Families, like this gentleman’s, often survive on the minimum. Standard luxuries such as blankets, gloves and coats during the winter are mostly gained from charitable organizations or “shopping” day at the local thrift store.

Most of us, myself included, have the luxury of owning an extra coat when we misplace one. Many of us have multiple coats for different options when it comes to fashion. During the winter months, those less fortunate do not care about the color of the coat or sometimes even the size but yet only the comfort of the warmth.

After that encounter, Feel The Warmth was launched. The organization began with the purchase of 20 Winter Coats with money donated by a handful of individuals at a house party in King of Prussia. These coats were given to the children of a church group that was located in a low income area.

Every non-profit needs a helping hand. I understand that we can only donate so much. If you have given to a charity this year, I commend you. If you are able to support this cause, I sincerely appreciate, in advance, every School Supply, Winter Coat, Toy, dollar or minute volunteered.

Thank You,
